Monthly Analysis (Wolwun, 월운) occupies a middle position in the Saju temporal framework — broader than Daily Analysis but more granular than Yearly or Decade Analysis. It examines how the elemental character of a given calendar month interacts with your natal birth chart, providing insight into the general energy trends and relational themes that tend to characterize that 30-day period for you personally.
In classical Saju practice, months are defined not by the Gregorian calendar but by solar terms (Jeolgi, 절기). Each month begins on the solar term transition — for example, spring begins with Ipchun (立春, around February 4), not January 1. This is why Sajugazer uses solar term calibration to determine your Month Pillar and to delineate monthly energy cycles. A "month" in this system reflects actual astronomical patterns rather than administrative convention.
Each solar month carries a specific Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branch. The Stem's relationship to your Day Master (via Ten Stars) gives the month its dominant relational character. A month governed by a Stem that supports your element tends to bring increased resources, clarity, and assistance. A month governed by a Stem that your element controls tends to bring active pursuits and material opportunities, though also heightened effort. The Earthly Branch of the month adds another layer. Monthly branches can form combination, clash, or harm relationships with branches in your natal chart, creating specific areas of amplification or tension. Monthly Analysis provides the contextual backdrop within which Daily Analysis readings occur.
